Help Haylie Lewis Fight Brain Cancer

As many of you may know, Haylie Lewis has been diagnosed with stage 2 astrocytoma. Astrocytoma is the most common type of glioma tumor that can develop in the brain and spinal cord. On May 18th, after many years of suffering from migraines, a large mass the size of a grapefruit was found on the right side of her brain. Just 4 days later on May 23rd, Haylie had an 8-hour craniotomy to remove as much of the tumor as possible. In as little as 2 months, her life has been turned upside down by this cancer diagnosis.

Following the craniotomy, there was excess spinal fluid that required a shunt to be placed for it to drain on June 24th. Complications arose with bacteria in her spinal fluid causing an infection in her spinal cord and brain. On July 2nd, she underwent surgery to remove the shunt and clean out any possible infection. Just a few days later, Haylie had an allergic reaction to her antibiotics with a rash that has lasted two weeks. After all of the complications, stays at the hospital, and surgeries, she hasn't even begun treatment of her cancer.

The cancer treatment will include 6 weeks of proton radiation (Monday-Friday). That's 5 days a week for 30 sessions. Oral chemo every day for those 6 weeks followed by one week every month for a year. Haylie is a young mother of two, Brexley who is 5 and will be starting kindergarten this year, and Brooks who just turned 3. She is a fighter who has a lot of love and support from her family along with her boyfriend Evan, who has taken time off of work to be her full-time caretaker through all of this.

This donation will help with day-to-day expenses and medical bills. At this time, Haylie's main focus is kicking cancer's ass and taking care of her two babies.
