Hi, parents of Hadlee, and we are doing everything we can to give our daughter Hadlee the care she desperately needs — while I (mom) also fighting my own serious health battles.

Hadlee is 10 years old and lives with Rett syndrome, a rare and severe neurological condition. She cannot walk or talk and needs around-the-clock care, specialists who truly understand her diagnosis. Unfortunately, in Portales, New Mexico — those resources simply don’t exist.

That’s why, every month, we travel over 500 miles round trip to Colorado for her medical appointments. And now, we’ve reached a breaking point — financially, physically, and emotionally.

On top of the rising travel costs, we’ve now been told we are responsible for paying half of a major hospital bill from a recent surgery. We’re doing everything we can, but this unexpected cost has hit us hard — especially while we’re trying to prepare to move.

I have my own complex health conditions — chronic pancreatitis, Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE), and suspected Celiac disease — that leave me in constant pain and fatigue. But I still fight every day to care for Hadlee and make sure she gets what she needs.
