We're the Bristol Revunions, Uni of Bristol's Comedy society and we specialise in Sketch and Stand-Up. We're taking our new sketch show 'Periodically Funny' to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August and we need your help to get us there!
Revunions (Revs) is UoB's oldest Performing Arts Society and has produced numerous beloved comedy names such as Natasia Demetriou ('What We Do in the Shadows' Hulu), Jamie Demetriou ('Stath Lets Flats' C4), Charlotte Ritchie ('Ghosts' BBC), Ellie White ('Ellie & Natasia' BBC) and Charlie Perkins (Channel 4 Head of Comedy), to name a few.
Alongside making people laugh, our main priority is inclusion and accessibility. Unlike other societies, we do not hold auditions for our shows and we encourage all of our members to explore different creative roles through writing, performing, directing, producing and tech-ing our shows.
Unfortunately, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival becomes more expensive each year, making it harder for grassroots groups to get involved. This year, we have saved profit from our shows and hosted fundraiser socials to finance our own travel and accommodation, however, it's still not enough - we need your help!
The unique British Comedy scene makes up such a key part of our national identity and our members have contributed to that, diversifying it and ensuring it thrives - we would be immensely grateful if you would donate to help us keep doing this and ensure that British comedy represents us all, not just the elites.
Your donation would be used to help fund our performance venue, print our posters and flyers (integral for the Fringe) and acquire our props.
This year our show will feature both new and our best-loved sketches from the year, all written by our members, and will be presented by a group of wacky scientists who are definitely not using sketch comedy to distract you from their evil invention!
