Nick is up, and almost running

Hello everybody,
In September I fell twelve feet, shattering both heels and fracturing two vertebrae. Furtunately I will survive, however I cannot put any pressure on either foot for 9 weeks. After being in a wheelchair it will be several months of learning how to walk again and gaining my strength back.
I have been healing in Woodstock, staying with two of my closest friends and a terrier-like dog. I finally appreciate chess now. Mom is back from Florida, and is handling this all surprisingly well.
One unfortunate thing about not being able to walk is that it is impossible for me to work. I now have over 20 thousand dollars in medical bills and didn't have insurance. More important is being able to survive over the winter without occupation.
Please help me get back on the feet... literally. Anything given will be so extremely appreciated and used for shelter, doctors and nutrition. Luckily I found an amazing podiatrist who, while putting on the boots, looked me in the eyes and said " if I see any wear on the bottom of these when you come back... you and I are no longer friends". I immediately said "oui chef" out of pure conditioning. I am fully committed to proper healing, and getting back to a hundred percent.
It is very difficult and strange to be in this very real place of need and vulnerability. It is a measure of willpower, strength both physical and mental, and most importantly, positive outlook. Ultimately only with positivity and friends, can the healing progress.
Thank you all so much for listening. If you want to give a ring, my number is (347)- [phone redacted]. It would be wonderful to hear from people.
Love,
_Nick
