Help Gerri's Sister Bring Her Husband Home

Hi, my name is Gerri. My sister's husband suffered a severe stroke and is paralyzed on his left side. She will need to bring him home soon as their insurance only covers 5 weeks in physical therapy. They have worked hard all their lives and now, at their age, they live on a fixed income.

I'm starting a fundraiser to hopefully get her some extra money so she can hire some help and pay for any medical needs he may have. Her only other option is to have him placed in a nursing home, and she loves him, so she is trying to bring him home. But at her age, she will need to hire someone to assist her.

If he has to go to a nursing home, they will take all of his income, making the house payment too difficult on her income without his. If she puts it up for sale, they will take half of the proceeds because they consider it his. She will not have enough to get a different home. Right now, she doesn't have the extra funds to see a lawyer to get these issues worked out. So, she needs assistance for his care and to have extra to get any legal issues handled as well as to try to work toward paying their house down.
