GOOD NEWS! I have secured a new teaching job in the San Francisco Bay area starting in July!
NOT So Good News:
1. I've been out of work for over a year recovering from a major accident and surgery and still have numerous medical and physical therapy appointments. Then my beloved Betty, my Acura, died. She needs a new radiator, thermostat, water pump, and hoses. Yes, she is old, but paid for and I need a vehicle to get to substitute teaching jobs and more as you'll see. I am not in any shape to buy a new used vehicle at this point.
2. Then I got pneumonia and was in the ER. I am still recovering and hacking. On medication with a follow-up appointment in a week.
3. My landlord has sold my place and I need to be out of here by the end of May, meaning having a vehicle is even more urgent as it will in one way or another be a home on wheels for a short period of time as I transit from place to place.
4. I am very grateful to have landed a job, but the San Francisco Bay area is an extremely expensive place to live. I am selling almost everything and babysitting, etc. for cash, but I have to come up with a significant amount of money to a) get there and b) put down a deposit and rent.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Yes, I am embarrassed, but I am also desperate, and blessed with lots of loving friends and family around the world. I need to get my car fixed ($2K), get out of my place, and get to California to start the next chapter in my life (the other $3K would go towards a deposit and first month's rent, though even that will be short with the numbers I've been seeing).
Any little bit would be much appreciated and extremely helpful in this dark period of my life. It has been a difficult year, but I trust and pray that good things are ahead. I just need to get through this and on to the next stage.
Please and thank you! Once settled, you will *always* have a place to stay with me!
Sincerely,
Melissa
