Three years ago, I moved to London because I felt directionless. I had a career in the arts that didn’t seem to be going anywhere, and I felt trapped in the stagnation. The move was impulsive and frightening, but I feared that if I didn’t make a change, I’d become stuck in a life I was losing hope in.
Since then, I’ve built a life I’m deeply proud of. I’ve grown my drag career as Frigid to the point where it’s now my main source of income. I’ve published a journal exploring the relationship between transmisogyny and C-PTSD. I’ve gone sober and finally created stability around my mental health. I’ve dedicated myself to the trans community here, doing my best to be a source of comfort and connection for the dolls around me and in return they have made space in community for me. I never imagined this life would be possible for me; and I’m really scared of losing it.
My Youth Mobility Visa is due to expire at the end of this year. Due to changes in sponsorship visa requirements, my only viable route to staying in London is through the Global Talent Visa; a pathway that could give me the stability to continue building my life and career here.
The costs are significant:
• £800 application fee
• £5,300 compulsory health insurance for the five-year visa I’m aiming for… an amount that must be paid upfront
I’m fundraising to help cover these expenses so I can secure my future here, continue my work, and remain part of the community that has transformed my life.
If you can contribute — whether financially or by sharing my story — you’ll be helping me hold on to the life I’ve worked so hard to build, and allowing me to keep giving back to the community that means everything to me.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
