Hello, my name is Jessica; I'm helping fundraise money for my nephew Fabian.

This Summer, Fabian fell ill and has been hospitalized a total of 3 times since July. He is still in the hospital (30 days as of today). He had to have his gallbladder removed and has had multiple complications. Now he has been diagnosed with kidney failure due to blood clots in his kidneys, related to his condition and has started dialysis at the young age of 27.

Fabian was diagnosed with Lupus Anticoagulant Hypoprothrombinemia Syndrome, a rare form of Lupus, at 11. This type of Lupus affects his clotting factors; he is at high risk for bleeding and having blood clot formation simultaneously. He has gone through multiple blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and steroid treatments all his life.

He has strived and been so resilient. He graduated from Baylor University with a dual degree in Biology and Spanish with honors. He is a happy, always-smiling young man who constantly worries about others. Fabian currently works at Memorial Herman Hospital as a Referral Coordinator for the Oncology center. He is so dedicated to helping others that during Covid, he never worked from home. He wanted to be there for all those people that needed his assistance.

His parents are always by his side, which means his mother is currently unable to work. They have already accumulated a large number of hospital bills from his first hospitalization.
