Help Evonne & Mom After Eaton Fire

Spende geschützt
Our friend Evonne and her mother Lisa have been displaced by the Eaton wildfire that swept through Altadena. Evonne’s home holds deep history. Her family moved there in 1962, and Altadena was the first neighborhood in Los Angeles where Black families were allowed to purchase homes. While the house miraculously survived the fire—the only structure left standing on their block— the widespread destruction surrounding it has left it uninhabitable for the foreseeable future. As a dedicated and beloved lactation consultant and newborn care specialist, Evonne supports new mothers in bonding with, feeding, and caring for their babies. She served clients at her home office or traveled to their homes, and the fire has rendered both her home and car unusable.

Our Goal

We are aiming to raise $25,000 to help Evonne and her mother bridge this difficult period. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Your support will help Evonne to continue her important work serving new mothers in our community while she and her mother regain stability.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion. Please share this campaign with your networks to help us reach our goal. All funds will go directly to Evonne to cover unexpected expenses that may not be fully covered by other sources of aid. This fundraiser is organized by Courtney Reiman and Caroline Rossiter, who have had the privilege of working with Evonne through Akin.
