Help eL Warnest's Family Through This Difficult Time

Our dear friend eL Warnest and their family have been experiencing an incredibly challenging year. This past December eL's Mom passed away after a years’ long journey with Alzheimer’s. Then, in late June, eL's Dad fell ill with pneumococcal pneumonia while on a cruise in France. For 5 weeks he was in the hospital fighting to get better while eL's brother Marc was able to go to France to be with him. After a roller coaster of gradual improvement and hopeful moments followed by setbacks, on July 28th their beloved Dad Jim passed away. In describing their dad, eL said, “Jim was lucky enough to retire early and spend time traveling for years before he passed. He was always there to help take care of his grandkids and get them on the bus in the morning and watch them if I was to go out of town. He was very supportive and would take them to speech and occupational therapy appointments for me. He loved sports, especially Gopher women's basketball, Minnesota Twins and MN Lynx. He spent years working for the state of Minnesota in veterans’ services supporting veterans reintegrating after war.” Simply put, Jim was their family’s person, their loving, supportive dad and grandpa, and his passing has been devastating.

Please consider supporting our friend eL, their partner Carrie, their kids Audre, Sam, Oliver and Logan, and eL's brother Marc and sister-in-law Jill. eL’s family has faced tremendous and unexpected costs in the past 6 weeks, between childcare, food (because it’s just hard to have energy to cook), Marc and Jill having to travel to and from France, hotels, prepaid events that they couldn’t go to, and more.
