Help Ed Matul with Expenses for Battling Cancer
Donation protected
After intermittently feeling under the weather this winter, Ed had some episodes where he was unable to eat solid food. April 3rd he was scheduled for an endoscopy. The results were concerning, and he was referred to Mayo Clinic for esophageal cancer. Starting April 15th he has been through multiple CT scans, PET scans, additional tests, and another endoscopy, to determine what he was dealing with. It was determined that the cancer is spreading and is stage IV. He has substantial tumors along the esophageal passage which are blocking his esophagus. Because the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes and his lungs, Ed isn't a candidate for surgery. Friday was his first meeting with his oncology team and he is currently receiving radiation. Ed will start chemotherapy in conjunction with the radiation on Monday.
In the midst of all of this, Ed is no longer physically strong enough to do his job as a security manager for five high rise buildings due to the effects of the cancer and subsequent treatment. He on a leave of absence from his job and will not be able to work through his treatments.
We are asking for support for Ed at this time to help with cost of treatment, lost income, and all other financial constraints he and his family may face as he fights this battle. Anyone who knows Ed knows he would do anything for anyone and ask for nothing in return and this is our chance to show him how much he means to all of us.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated by his family. Please pray for strength Ed and his family at this difficult time.
