Help Ease Gary's Hospital Bill Burden

I am Dean Hittleman, Gary Hittleman is my brother, and this campaign is to help with his enormous hospital bills that will remain after medicare and his insurance have done what they will.

Gary raised money for St. Baldricks (children's cancer fund) this year for his birthday.  He grew his hair intending to support "locks of love" as well with the hair he grew. On his birthday (March 26, 2024) he got his head shaved and forwarded the donations to St. Baldricks. 

This picture was taken at the beginning of May with me. He perked up for it, as even back then the true picture of his health was worse than it appeared. I will not show later pictures out of respect for my brother Gary and his wife Joann

Shortly after March 28th Gary was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma that includes extensive disease throughout his bones, lymph nodes, and most organs. In other words his lung cancer had metasticized to bone cancer and other metabolic systems and organs. 

He was in the hospital March 28th- May 15th, and then in rehab from May 15th-June 1st and then home for hospice care. Along with many procedures and biopsies, he had pins put in both arms and in one leg. His bones were fracturing and breaking due to demineralization. One arm required a second surgery and repinning. Kennesaw/Wellstar hospital undertook extensive metabolic and foundational testing and determined that his cancers were incurable and untreatable and palliative care was the only offerred course. Chemotherapy was discontinued after 2 sessions. He was deemed too weak for any type of clinical trials. 

His cancers were really too advanced when discovered to treat and he had deteriorated rapidy. Joann is taking fantastic care of him at home with assistance from hospice nurses (RN's) and a certified nusing assistant (CNA).

This request is to raise money for some of the hospital bills forthcoming that are going to outpace medicare and his insurance.  We appreciate the time you are taking to read the request and any donations. Thank You
