Hello, my friends, I am Dr. Jehad Iyad, a doctor from Gaza.

I was married two months before the war and in October 2024 I had my first child (Celine). In September 2026 my son Iyad was born.

I was living a quiet and happy life full of hope, ambitions and a lot of passion to complete my educational career and specialisation in my medical field of pediatrics, but everything has stopped since the beginning of this genocide.

I had to leave my house with my family since the first day of this war because of the continuous and violent bombing, and our only house was destroyed to ashes, and all our beautiful memories went with it.

I miss my home, my normal life and my small achievement in medicine, I had to be displaced several times because of violent bombing, extreme fear and death everywhere. We didn't know where to go because of the lack of safety.

Currently, I live in a small tent, and the situation here is very bad, there are not even the minimum elements of life, no healthy water, no flour, no electricity, no fuel, no clothes, no cleaning tools, not even a mattress to sleep on.

You can't imagine this hell at all, there are no words to describe this place where we go to sleep. At summer, we sleep on the street, on the sand, under the extreme heat, insects and reptiles. In the winter the rain gets in our tent and makes our clothes wet.

It is unthinkable, my children sleep on the ground without the lowest elements of life here, where there is no place for anything at all, we sleep in tents afraid and terrified of bombing at all times and places.

We have to light a fire to cook anything, and we have to bring water from long distances, in addition to the deteriorating health situation and the spread of many diseases such as intestinal infections, pneumonia and skin diseases.

However, I have volunteered in the hospital, especially in the emergency department, and constantly work to help patients. Since the beginning of the war and until now, I have been a volunteer and I am making a great effort to treat patients, all without financial compensation. I never abandoned the patients despite the bombing and the evacuation notices.

I also volunteered in many medical points in an effort to help the largest number of people and reduce many fast-spread diseases such as skin infections, intestinal infections and respiratory infections, but with the escalation of violence in the country and the famine that affects us and the great danger that surrounds us, I felt afraid for my safety and the safety of my family, so I am asking you for help to be able to survive and eventually leave Gaza and resume my studies and continue my dream of specialising in the field of children (as pediatrician); so that I can help the Gazan who were injured in this criminal war and within my medical specialty everywhere in the world where there are children who need a doctor.

I may be a new hope to save the lives of many children with your help. There is no doubt that your help will save my life and my future and bring me closer to my dream.
