Help Divya heal from Traumatic Brain Injury

Donation protected
Dr. Divya Singh is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Utah Tech University. Divya is known to inspire her students with her passion and dedication. With a doctorate from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Divya is not only a gifted educator but also a mentor who brings warmth and kindness into every classroom. Dr Divya Singh is the daughter of Dr Umesh Kumar Singh, an alumnus of Department of Pharmaceutics, IIT BHU (1978-84)

But our beloved Divya’s life was shattered in an instant on October 20th, 2024. While traveling from Virginia to Utah, she was in a terrible car accident in Colorado that left her with critical, life threatening injuries—a traumatic brain injury and a fractured femur. The medical team had to perform an emergency procedure, removing part of her skull to relieve pressure on her brain.

Because of the traumatic brain injury, Divya is still unconscious. Doctors say it will take weeks or months for her head swelling to go down and for her to regain consciousness, and she needs critical care till then. During this difficult time, her family is in India, doing everything they can to support her from afar with whatever means they have.

We’ve set up this campaign to help cover the overwhelming medical bills and necessary treatments Divya will face on her journey to recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards her rehabilitation and care.

Please help us bring Divya back to her joyful self. Your generosity can help restore the light she brings to all of us. Thank you for your support and love during this incredibly challenging time.

Additional Information for Transparency :

My name is Vishwas Grama Nanjundaswamy. I am someone who deeply cares about Divya’s recovery and well-being. I created and manage this fundraiser to support Divya and her family during her long rehabilitation journey.

This fundraiser is being organized in coordination with Divya’s father, Dr. Umesh Kumar Singh, who is closely overseeing Divya’s medical care and recovery.

All funds raised through this campaign are used directly to support Divya’s medical treatment and rehabilitation. With the support of generous donors, approximately $40,000 from this fundraiser was used for an air ambulance transfer that safely transported Divya from the United States to India so she could continue long-term rehabilitation closer to her family.

Divya is currently staying at a rehabilitation facility in India where she is receiving regular physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. She is gradually working on regaining basic abilities such as sitting, standing, walking, and eating orally.

The funds raised through this campaign are being used, and will continue to be used, for:

• Rehabilitation facility expenses
• Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
• Ongoing medical care and medications
• Nursing and supportive care
• Any additional rehabilitation equipment or medical needs related to Divya’s recovery

Divya’s rehabilitation and medical care currently cost approximately $5,000 USD per month. Consistent and intensive therapy is extremely important for her continued progress, and these funds help ensure she can receive the best care possible for as long as needed.

We are incredibly grateful for the kindness, generosity, and encouragement shown by everyone who has supported this fundraiser and stood by Divya during this difficult journey. Regular updates about Divya’s progress will continue to be shared here.
