Help Dianne Heal: Overcoming Cancer Again

Meet my mom, Dianne. She received some bad news recently that she & our family were not prepared for. She would never personally ask anyone for help, but she needs our love & support. 2 days before Thanksgiving she was advised by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical center she needed an echocardiogram, pulmonary function test & PET scan for a 13mm mass located on her upper right lung. This was found at another appointment unrelated. On 12/31 she completed these scans which confirmed suspicion for lung cancer. The only way to know for sure is to have a biopsy performed.

On 1/6, she had a 3 hour surgery to biopsy the mass. When she got out, the doctors confirmed the mass was cancerous and they completed a lobectomy. My mom will be out of work for at least 6-8 weeks. This will also be unpaid as she does not qualify for disability or have PTO at her job.

My mom is the STRONGEST person I known. She is already a cancer survivor. In 2002 she was diagnosed with Salivary Gland Cancer. After 12 years of reconstructive surgeries, radiation and many hospital visits, she beat it.

Unfortunately, go fund me was not around then. But we were fortunate enough to have our friends, family and strangers rally around her to help with food, bills, and care for my younger sister, Brianne & I, as my dad worked 2 jobs to provide for us.

I created this to help me bring some relief to my family so she can focus on healing/staying healthy, and get back to what she loves being, Grammy. This GoFundMe will be used to help cover medical expenses and all the unexpected costs that come with this journey.

She is not out of the woods yet, this is only the beginning. Thank you for all the love and support. Let’s show her that the same strength she’s given us is coming right back at her!
