Hello friends. My name is Fernanda, and I have been a protector of the Amazon forest and its people in the best way that I can. Through direct connection with the people there, I have identified a lot of needs. My goal is to support the people who are defending the forest and living in ways that are sustainable to this planet.
Today I am asking for support for Diana, a mother of eight who lives deep in the jungle with no access to clean water, or any kind of communication/technology. Her home is very remote and the only form of transportation is by boat. I met her last year when I was visiting the HuniKuin Village “Vigilantes,” and she was helping cook for the foreigners who were visiting the village. I was very touched by her story, and how hard her life is, her deep dedication to her children. Right now, she’s asking for support to buy a pump to have access to a well. Water diseases are rampant in that region, and if you’ve ever traveled there, you know what I’m talking about.
Every day she walks more than one mile each way to reach water (that is not necessarily clean) to drink, cook, and wash dishes. She’s has developed a hernia from carrying heavy buckets on this walk. The walk is also not safe, and her health has been deteriorating since she gave birth to her last child.
Please support Diana and her family if you can. Any little bit will help reach our goal and allow her children to have a healthier life.
