Help us get Demi everything she needs to move, heal, and live.
Demi is our 7-year-old English Mastiff, AKC Grand Champion, mama to 16 beautiful puppies, and the emotional support companion to our daughter when she was little. She is not just our dog. She is the heartbeat of our family.
On April 13, 2026, Demi was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, one of the most aggressive forms of bone cancer, located in her shoulder. We acted fast. Amputation followed, and we are so grateful to say that Demi is doing beautifully. Her staples are out. She is getting around. She is fighting, and she is winning. But her journey is far from over and the road ahead requires more than we can fund alone.
WHERE THINGS STAND TODAY, MAY 13, 2026
Chemotherapy: Demi has been cleared to begin chemo by her vet at Oasis Animal Hospital. We are waiting on final pathology from her leg to confirm the cancer before we can start. We are hopeful that report comes in within the next week, and the moment it does we begin.
Her brace: We are so grateful to announce that WIMBA has generously reached out to us and is fully sponsoring Demi’s custom orthotic brace, covering 100% of the vet visits, measurements, fittings, and the cost of the brace itself. This custom brace is designed to strengthen and support her remaining front left limb, and WIMBA’s kindness and generosity toward our family has meant more than we can say.
Her prosthetic leg: We are working with 3D Pets to custom build Demi a prosthetic leg at a cost of $1,845. They have also recommended two additional attachments at $150 and $200 respectively, bringing the total for her prosthetic to $2,195. 3D Pets is not sponsoring this cost, which is why your support matters so much. Getting Demi fitted will also require two round trips from South Carolina to New Jersey, one for her scanning and casting appointment and one for her final fitting, with Demi traveling with us both times.
Her wheelchair: After extensive research and consultations with specialty orthotists, Demi will need a custom front limb wheelchair long term, beyond the prosthetic. A custom cart through K9 Carts or Eddie’s Wheels will cost between $1,600 and $2,000. We are still hoping to secure sponsorship there and welcome any connections, but we are fundraising for the full amount so Demi is not left waiting.
Why urgency matters: Demi is bearing significant weight on her one remaining front limb every single day. The longer that continues without proper support, the greater her risk of a bone break or ligament tear. We are in a race against that clock.
A NOTE ON OUR UPDATED $15,000 GOAL
We want to be fully transparent. The $10,292 already raised by this incredible community has been poured directly into Demi’s care, including her amputation, oncology consultations, imaging, diagnostics, and medications. We are reserving $6,000 for Demi’s chemotherapy treatment which will cost $1200 per injection at 5 rounds total. Every single dollar you gave has already gone to work saving her life. Thank you.
We pursued brand sponsorships across prosthetic and orthotic companies and were not able to secure them outside of WIMBA’s incredible generosity. So we are coming back to this village one final time.
Here is exactly where the remaining funds are going:
Prosthetic leg through 3D Pets including recommended attachments: $2,195
Custom front limb wheelchair through K9 Carts or Eddie’s Wheels: $1,600 to $2,000
We are not starting over. We are finishing strong.
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Give because every dollar directly funds Demi’s care. Share because even if you have already given, sharing this page is everything. Sponsor through 3D Pets by reaching out to them directly if you would like to cover her prosthetic costs. Connect us with wheelchair sponsors because we welcome any connections to K9 Carts or Eddie’s Wheels.
Our family has been in a tender season. We were displaced from the home Demi has known for seven years while we wait for our new home to be built. Our biggest prayer remains the same, that Demi makes it to that new home.
She has grown so much. She has overcome so much. Having this village around her has been one of the greatest gifts of our lives. We are not ready to lose her. And she is not done yet.
Thank you for loving Demi with us.
UPDATED 4/21/26
Help us save Demi's life. Time is everything right now.
Demi is our 7-year-old English Mastiff, an AKC Grand Champion, mama to 16 beautiful puppies, and the emotional support companion to our daughter when she was little. She is not just our dog. She is the heartbeat of our family.
On April 13, 2026, Demi was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, one of the most aggressive forms of bone cancer. It is in her shoulder. We caught it early, which means we still have a window to act. But osteosarcoma moves fast. Without treatment, this cancer spreads to the heart and lungs, and it does not slow down.
Our oncologist has confirmed that the best path to giving Demi real time, not just comfort care, is amputation followed by chemotherapy. We know that sounds intense. But dogs recover from three legs far better than people expect, and chemo gives her the best shot at keeping this cancer from spreading to her vital organs.
We are already researching every clinic and option to find the most affordable care without compromising her outcome. But the reality is, we need to move quickly. Every week we wait is a week the cancer has to grow.
Here is what we are facing:
Amputation surgery is quoted at $7,000 to $8,000. We are actively researching whether any clinics can bring that cost down without compromising her care.
Chemotherapy will follow, typically 4 to 6 sessions. Each session runs approximately $1,000, putting chemo at $4,000 to $6,000 total.
Oncology consultation, diagnostics, and imaging have already begun, and those costs run $500 to $1,500.
Ongoing pain management and medications are approximately $100 to $500 per month while she heals.
Our goal is $10,000. That covers amputation and gets us through as much of chemo as possible. If we can raise more, every dollar goes directly toward completing her treatment and giving her the full fighting chance she deserves.
Our family is also in a tender season right now. We were recently displaced from the home Demi has known for seven years while we wait for our new home to be built. We are living in a small basement apartment, and our biggest prayer is simple: that Demi makes it to that new home this July.
We are not ready to lose her. And she is not done yet.
If you can give, we are so grateful. If you can share, that matters just as much. And if all you have is a prayer, we will take it.
Every dollar gets us closer to bringing our girl home. You can donate here on her GoFundMe page or at the links below:
