Help Chef Leeroi Knock Out Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone. Our family member, Leeroi Del Mundo Cordero, is 38 years old and from the Philippines. She’s compassionate, hardworking, has a passion for cooking, and is the strongest person we know.

In 2022, Leeroi was diagnosed with stage 2B triple-negative breast cancer—one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. She underwent surgery in July 2022 and started chemotherapy soon afterwards.

To help with the costs of chemotherapy, Leeroi sold food to hospital staff and continued to work as a chef. She completed eight cycles of chemotherapy and took oral medication for eight months in hopes of fully eradicating the cancer. When she experienced chest pain, a PET scan revealed active nodes in her neck. The frequency of chemotherapy increased to weekly, with a PET scan every three weeks to monitor progress.

Despite weekly treatments, a node had grown larger. The PET scan showed no improvement and revealed a new tumor located in her lungs. As advised by her oncologist, Leeroi must undergo immunotherapy every three weeks for 1-2 years.

The heavy price that comes with immunotherapy is no joke. The Philippines General Hospital offers the treatment for a price of PHP 140,000 ($2,430 USD) per session. With how severe the effects of the cancer have become, she can no longer work. The total cost, both emotionally and financially, is astronomical. Thus, we (her family) are reaching out to your kind hearts for donations that will cover her treatment and ease the financial burden off of Leeroi’s shoulders.

Being the person who goes through all of this is not easy. It isn’t easy to wake up every morning and worry about when you’ll get better, how you’ll get better, and if you have the money to get better. Leeroi puts on a brave face to assure everyone around her that she is okay, but her ongoing 3-year battle with cancer has been difficult.

Let us join hands and help Leeroi through this challenging time. It is us who she needs the most. The fight against cancer isn’t over until we let it. And we speak for everyone that we shouldn’t let it slide without a fight.

From the bottom of our hearts, we humbly ask that you share this link with friends and family and, if possible, donate (any amount helps).

Donations will be accepted with utmost gratitude and will be allocated directly to her immunotherapy treatment in the Philippine General Hospital. We thank you in advance for your compassion, prayers, kindness, and support during this challenging time.

These are other options to send your love.

Sincerely,
Del Mundo Family
