Hi everyone!

I’ve started this gofundme to help cover the cost of my cat’s vet bill.

As some of you may know, I’ve adopted two community cats in my neighbourhood - Chaka, and his mom, Miss Wobbly. It started out by occasionally feeding them, but soon enough they started coming in daily to eat, sleep, and snuggle! However, I haven’t been able to get them to acclimate to being exclusively indoor cats yet.

On Chaka’s most recent venture outdoors, he was badly injured. While under sedation to lacerate his wounds, it was discovered that his injury was a result of his elbow being shot. The bullet split his bone into many pieces, so our vet decided the best course of action was to get a splint on him.

After wallowing in grief over wondering who could do that to an innocent animal, grief turned to gratitude knowing that by the grace of God, it was only his leg, and not his life.

Needless to say, Chaka is going to have to get used to staying indoors.

Now, the situation we are facing is keeping him in a cast and resting for the next 2-3 months, while we hope his bones will heal and nerves will regenerate. Otherwise, we are looking at amputation.

As much as I love this sweet boy, covering Chaka’s medical bills is an unexpected cost I was not prepared for.
