I'm starting this fundraiser for my brother, Carlos. Two days ago, Carlos was detained by ICE, and our family is in urgent need of help to hire a lawyer for him.

Right now, Carlos is being held in a Border Patrol facility under inhumane conditions. He is barely being given any food. He sleeps on the ground with only a paper blanket, and the cold makes it impossible for him to sleep. Due to the food conditions, his body is not getting nutrition and is rejecting what little he's consuming. My brother suffered from pancreatic pain, which led him to end up in the emergency room and be hospitalized. Just now, while communicating with us, his pancreatic pain is back, and they can't treat him because he is under 21 years old. Knowing that he is going through this and not being able to bring him relief right away has been incredibly painful for our family.

His mental health is degrading under these conditions. Carlos is a hardworking, sensitive, and deeply caring person who has always excelled. He maintained top grades from elementary school all the way through his recent graduation from Miami Beach Senior High, and he was so excited to just begin his college journey in finance. Outside the classroom, Carlos is passionate about staying active—he played high school football, loves mountain biking with our dad, and spends his free time at the gym not just training, but patiently helping and teaching others how to work out. He is respectful, responsible, and deeply loved by everyone in our community.

The funds raised will go toward a lawyer to represent Carlos, seek bail to help get him out of the facility, and represent him before a judge to dispute his status. We need help covering the legal costs so he has the representation he needs.
