Hi, my name is Jose Garcia. I was born and raised in Santa Monica and I am a 5 year veteran of the United States Navy. My father Ivan Garcia was recently detained and moved to the Adelanto ICE Processing center. My father was in the process of gaining his citizenship when he was detained.

My father is the heart of the Garcia family. If you are affiliated in Santa Monica sports you may have heard him cheering on myself, little brother, little sister, and our many Santa Monica teammates. He is a hard working man that supports my family not only financially, but also emotionally and mentally keeping us all together. Over the last few years, my mother has encountered several medical issues in which my father stayed side by side in her support. His character could fill a room and he can spark a friendship wherever life takes him. His respect of others along with his charismatic and joking personality make him stand out in any setting. If you know Ivan, you know he is an amazing father, husband, son in law, and best friend with a heart of gold. He is the type of man to take his shirt off his back and give it to you if needed, even if he just met you.

Along with the help of family and friends, we are fighting to bring him home. My family has now been reduced to one income. With growing legal costs along with supporting two children, we are raising funds to assist with monthly expenses during this difficult time.
