Tosha is starting this fundraiser for Dewey and Teri, Tosha’s mom and dad. Dewey traveled from Oklahoma to Michigan for a football weekend and suddenly developed Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). In just a matter of days, everything changed. Dewey became paralyzed, dependent on a ventilator, and now has a tracheostomy. He remains hospitalized in Michigan, facing a long road to recovery far from home, family, and the support system waiting for him in Oklahoma. His doctors are now working to transfer him back to Oklahoma so he can continue treatment closer to the people who love him most, while Teri walks through this overwhelming time alongside him.
This fundraiser is being created to help cover the cost of the specialized medical flight needed to safely bring Dewey home to Oklahoma and support Dewey and Teri through this crisis. This is not a regular trip home. Because of Dewey’s condition, he requires carefully coordinated medical transport. The overall costs of everything will be substantial on their own, and this flight will most likely not be covered by insurance. If you’re able to help, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Every act of support means so much, and the goal is simple and heartfelt: get Dewey home to Oklahoma and surround Dewey and Teri with the love and support they need right now.
