Brian McGinnis served this country as a United States Marine and later as a firefighter protecting his community. Today he needs our support after being violently removed and injured while speaking out inside the United States Capitol.

Today, Brian McGinnis spoke out.

Brian is not a career politician. He is not a professional activist. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served from 2000 to 2004 and a firefighter who spent years protecting his community. A man who wore the uniform of this country. A man who ran toward danger when others ran away.

When Brian stood up to speak inside the United States Capitol, he was exercising one of the most basic rights Americans are supposed to have. The right to speak. The right to question power. The right to be heard.

Instead, he was forcibly removed and violently handled during a Senate Armed Services hearing.

Videos circulating across social media show Brian being physically dragged out while trying to make his voice heard.

A Marine veteran.

A first responder.

An American citizen.

Silenced with violent force!

During the incident, Brian’s arm was seriously injured and he now faces medical treatment, recovery, expenses following what happened.

Regardless of politics, this should concern every American. A man who served this country should never be treated this way simply for speaking inside the halls of power. Brian stood up because he believes the American people deserve a voice in decisions about war and the lives of our soldiers.
