Brian Skeet is a Diné (Navajo) runner, MMIP (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples) advocate, and a powerful example of what it means to move through the world with intention and purpose.

On October 4, 2025, Brian will take on the Saddles 100 Mile Ultra — a grueling long-distance race that winds through Arizona’s rugged terrain. This will be Brian’s second ultra, after completing the extremely hot and technical Black Canyon 100K earlier this year.

For Brian, running is more than sport.

It is medicine.

It is ceremony.

It is visibility.

He runs to honor his ancestors and traditional teachings.

He runs to bring awareness to MMIP.

He runs to stand in a space where few Indigenous people are seen and heard.

Brian has a small but mighty crew supporting him, led by Mariah Zavala and Angel Curley, with one volunteer pacer to help carry him through the final miles. As a self-funded runner, every part of this effort is being done on love, grit, and community support.
