My name is Brian Newman and I am a father of two daughters and an Honorably Discharged United States Air Force 9/11 Era Veteran. I am also a Seminary Student and the Founder of Psalm 16 Ministry. For the last 7 years I have been employed full time in Human Services assisting adults who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

The reason for my fundraiser is that after 8 years in an apartment that is in desperate need of refurbishing and supplied with hand-me-down furniture for my daughters and I, an opportunity has opened to move into a newer apartment complex here in Cleveland, TN on the better side of town. Move In Date is September 15th.

The new apartment has new appliances to include a washer, dryer. dishwasher, double sink and a stove that has all 4 stove eyes working. It also has a kitchen large enough to attempt cooking. The apartment will also give my daughters their own bathroom for the first time in 8 years and it allows for a pet unlike my current apartment. It would also be a place quiet enough to produce books and podcasts for the ministry.

A 3 year custody battle has left me in a difficult financial situation to recover from. So while contributions from a minister friend, the Disabled American Veterans Association, and lots of myself driving Uber after work has covered the initial costs of moving in there is still a need for new furniture and to have utilities transferred and the move-out costs from my old apartment.

I would very much like for my daughters to choose their own furniture for the first time at ages 12 and 15, and much of the furniture we own currently is no longer usable or would not survive the transfer. There is also need for repairs on the car due to driving Uber/Lyft so often.
