Help Bethany Bounce Back!

On Sunday, June 12th, Bethany and her fiance, Colter were heading home from their friend's house. They were traveling north on 321 in Hudson when a car pulled out and hit them. Bethany was fully ejected from the motorcycle. She sustained multiple

injuries, including

a collapsed lung, a laceration on her liver, a broken clavicle, multiple broken ribs, numerous back fractures, broken right femur, right tibia, and

open

wound to her ankle/heel area and broken left knee. She was transported to Frye

Hospital in Hickory but was later transported to Atrium/Carolinas Medical Center in

Charlotte. She underwent surgery the following Tuesday to repair her right femur,

right tibia, left knee, and close up the wound at her right ankle. Bethany was in

surgery a total of 7 hours. She spent a total of 10 days in the hospital following her

accident.

Bethany is limited with movement even with her arms, due to her broken clavicle and rib/back fractures. She will be bed/chair bound for 12 weeks with no weight bearing on her legs. She will require around-the-clock care.

Bethany is living at home with her mom, Amy, who is providing her care. We have no time frame on how long the recovery and rehab will be. Bethany will not

be able to work during this time, and Amy will also be limited in working as well as

she will be Bethany's primary caregiver.

As awful as this accident was, we realize it could have been much worse. We thank

the Lord for saving her and sparing her life, we do realize it could have ended very

differently.
