Dear friends, neighbors, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Becky Wortman, and I’m a single mom of six amazing children—three biological (19, 15, 10) and three adopted (20, 8, 6). I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but today I’m reaching out with a heart full of humility and hope.
I’ve spent my life doing everything I can to give my children a safe, loving, and stable home. My journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve always believed that love, resilience, and faith could carry us through anything.
A few years ago, I adopted two beautiful little boys from a heartbreaking background of abuse and neglect. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I also knew I couldn’t turn away. I fought hard in court to protect them and give them the safety they deserve, and I would do it all over again. But the legal fees and emotional toll added up more quickly than I could have ever anticipated.
I’ve worked hard to provide for my family, but after a job loss, unexpected medical bills, the weight of legal expenses, rising living costs, and doing it all on my own has become overwhelming. Despite my best efforts, I’ve fallen behind on my mortgage—and now, we’re facing the devastating possibility of losing our home.
This home is more than just a house. It’s the place where my children healed, where they feel safe, where birthdays are celebrated, and bedtime stories are read. It’s the only stable ground we’ve had in a world that’s often felt uncertain.
I’m asking for help to raise $10,000 to catch up on our mortgage and cover the legal costs that helped bring my family together. These funds would give us a fighting chance to stay in our home, breathe a little easier, and continue to move forward together.
If you know me, you know how hard this is for me to ask. I’ve always tried to be the one giving help, not asking for it. But right now, I need my village more than ever.
Please consider donating—every dollar makes a difference. And if you’re not able to give, sharing this message would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for seeing us, standing with us, and believing in second chances and unconditional love.
With all my love and gratitude,
Becky Wortman & family ❤️
