Help Beau stay in the Uk

Hiii Everyone!
Since I came to the UK in September 2019, it became apparent that a clock was ticking over my head. As a ‘third culture’ individual from Nigeria, my choices were that I would either have to find a means to stay within the UK or return to a life where my physical and mental health and safety are threatened as a trans individual with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).
EUPD, also known as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), is a complex mental health condition that has made daily life and work challenging. For me, it has meant battling with periods of overwhelming anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and burnout. These symptoms in addition with being on the spectrum and having endometriosis require an environment that is caring, understanding and stable and life in Nigeria is anything but that.
Gaining the right to stay in the UK with my partner, and a loving and supportive group of chosen family, is the first step in going no contact with my religious parents who are homophobic and don’t have the emotional toolkit to deal with my long-term mental and physical health issues.
Financial Challenges:
After an episode that reached its peak in December 2023, I was left unable to stand on my own two feet financially. Since then, I’ve been in and out of work and spent the majority of 2024 unemployed. In August, I went back to my country to reapply for a visa, which caused me to lose my job and further destabilized me financially. Most of my savings were used to facilitate my return to the UK in October to start a masters which means I have absolutely no financial cushion.
The rising cost of living in the UK, paired with inflation and an unstable job market, has made it even harder for individuals like me to regain financial independence. Rent, utilities, and basic living expenses have soared, while wages have failed to keep up. For someone in my position, these challenges make it nearly impossible to cover the significant costs of visa applications and legal support without external help.
I’ve realized that, if I am to keep on living, I need to do so as authentically as possible, surrounded by the supportive community and life I’ve built here. The UK is where I have grown into my body, built a life, formed a supportive community, and begun my transition. Leaving now would disrupt my medical care, sever vital connections, and put my mental and physical well-being at serious risk.
Why This Route Is the Best Option:
I already have a partner that I intend to enter into a civil partnership with, and we have been living together for the past year. The spouse route offers stability that isn’t tied to the uncertainty of being sponsored by a job, which is always at risk of falling through for reasons beyond my control. With a trusted lawyer assisting, the spousal route can be successful and offers a more permanent and secure path to remaining in the UK. This route will ensure I can maintain access to medical care and the community I need to thrive.
How you can help:
The current financial climate makes this an especially difficult time to ask for help, but your generosity can make a lasting impact. No matter the amount, your contribution will bring me closer to securing my future in the UK, where I can live safely and authentically.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign widely on any platform you feel comfortable with. Your support means the world to me and will help ensure that I can continue my journey towards a safe, fulfilling, and stable life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you provide.
Love you all dearly,
