Help Bart Berkshire & Chester through Surgery

Donation protected
1/25 FUNDRAISER UPDATE: Thanks to everyone’s donations and shares, we’ve reached the goal to cover the cost of the entire scan and surgery: $9,658.40 (10k). In the long-term, Chester will still need a harness, pads, vet visits and other unknown costs, so please keep supporting! Continued donations and shares will also help pay for Chester’s overnight stays at the vet's while he is healing from surgery. Thank you to everyone for the overwhelming support and love ❤️ !!

If you're a Mackinac Island local or have visited the island in the last ten years, you may have seen its star Fire Department mascot, Chester. Chester and his owner, Bart Berkshire, are in need of financial assistance after a fractured disc left Chester paralyzed from the waist down. Chester is going through surgery to repair his disc and will need to stay in recovery for five days. The starting goal is $5,000, but the cost will likely far exceed that amount. Please consider helping Chester, Bart and Andy through this difficult time.

From snowy snowmobile rides to street hockey games, for the past ten years Chester has been Bart and the Island's loyal companion.

Any way to help big or small is appreciated. Donate or share this GoFundMe to relieve some of the financial stress while Chester gets back on his feet.

Thank you!!

*For transparency, a copy of the invoice for Chester's MRI & spinal surgery totaling $9,658.40 is included:
