Help Baby Liam Fight for His Life

Baby Liam was born 5/28/25 at 2:23 am, exactly one month after his 3-year-old sister Summer. Liam was diagnosed while in utero with severe Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) — a rare and serious condition where a hole in the diaphragm allows abdominal organs to move into the chest, crowding the lungs and heart. This life-threatening condition prevents him from having proper lung development and has made breathing nearly impossible since his birth.

 Liam’s mother, my only sister, had endured a high-risk pregnancy with countless complications. She was ordered to stay in the hospital for almost an entire month on bedrest to give her baby a fighting chance. Over the past 3 months, there has not been a day where she has not cried. Even though she knew his survival rate was extremely low, she bravely carried him almost to full term as she believed in her little guy.

 Liam has been fighting for every breath. Before he even knows what life is, he has already undergone major medical interventions, including a hernia repair surgery and specialized respiratory support, and is currently in the natal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital Orange County where he is receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), an advanced life support treatment to help with his severe respiratory failure. His doctors have compared treating his condition to “climbing Mt. Everest.”

 Our family is doing everything we can to support him, but the increasing medical expenses remain an undeniable aspect of this entire journey. The expected medical bills are rising to the million-dollar figure. We would greatly appreciate any donations toward baby Liam’s fight for his hopeful recovery.
