Help Ashman get the care he needs

Anyone that knows my father, Jamey, knows he’s a bright & loving man who gives what he can to those in need, even if all he can offer is an act of service . But to know him, is to know he LOVES his pup-sidekick, companion & best friend, Asher. AKA, the Ashster, the Ashman and dad’s personal fav, the Ashhole. Although hard to admit , financial hardship has struck, & struck hard. Like many families, monetary setbacks are not particularly new for us, but this time, it feels impossible to find a resolution as quickly as it’s needed. This financial burden is standing in the way of providing a necessary procedure for our dad’s pup. Recently, Asher started to show physical symptoms of a ‘rupturing anal gland’ that has suddenly progressed into something far more serious and uncomfortable for him. Dad knew it would likely get worse untreated so he arranged for Asher to be seen by a vet. Just to address the small abscess alone, my father was quoted over $1000. That was already more than he, or any of us, could afford. Alternatively, they prescribed ointments, and suggested OTC methods that would potentially heal Ashers wound without the costly surgery. Quickly, Asher developed worsening symptoms and physical issues stemming from this abscess. Unfortunately, none of us are able to take on this additional financial hit at this time, not without assistance. Given the current state Asher is in, we are aware the cost will be far more than the initial quote & are expecting a gut wrenching climb in cost. For back story, I have recently taken a pay cut that has decreased if not eliminated any disposable income I once had access to. Although it was never much, emergencies were easier to maneuver through. As for my sister, she has a baby on the way with many financial priorities of her own. To close, our father would be shattered, knowing there may have been more he could do, or help he didn’t seek. If all you are able to donate is the time it takes to share Asher’s story, we appreciate it more than you can possibly imagine. We too, will invest what we can into Asher’s road to better health.
