Help artisan weavers in Turkey rebuild.
Our small family business in Oregon has been working with traditional weavers in southern Turkey for nearly twenty years. Our weavers create the most beautiful home linens using traditional looms. Many of you have towels, bedcovers, scarves and table covers created by these talented artisans.
Their village in Hatay, Turkey was near the epicenter of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on February 6, 2023. The workshops and homes of our weavers have been decimated by the quake. Many of the families have been displaced from their homes and are living with neighbors and relatives. With no electricity, water or internet, they are faced with a dreadful reality. We are raising funds to help them return and rebuild their homes and workshops. Their immediate need is to purchase blankets and generators to return to their homes. Rebuilding is the next step.
We are asking our customers and community to help if you are able. Our weavers need resources and kindness, so please consider donating to this fund to directly help them rebuild their lives. If you have any questions, please give me a call at [phone redacted] or stop in the shop. Thank you for your support. Samir Naser and Karla Bean
