Help Amber & Jamie's Family with Flood Repair
Donation protected
Hi, everyone. This is not an easy thing for us to do, but we're honestly out of options.
We are a family of four (with jobs), and like many, we've been struggling to stay afloat. As a teacher, Amber doesn't make a huge amount of money, but owes a huge amount of money for her education.
During COVID, we had no choice but to rely on credit cards when Jamie’s paychecks were sometimes as low as $150 every two weeks. His employer was amazing by not laying off a lot of employees so they would get to keep their insurance, but their hours were drastically cut. Since then, we’ve been trying to dig ourselves out of that debt while also keeping our 1913 home from falling apart.
- We just replaced our furnace and will need to replace the entire HVAC unit this summer.
- Our savings have been drained by home repairs, and moving isn’t an option with housing prices where they are.
- Yesterday, our basement flooded—not just with water, but with sewage. The cost to clean and repair the damage will be in the thousands.
- On top of that, we’re already drowning in medical debt.
- We thought Amber's student loans would be paid off, but that didn’t happen. Now, we're looking at payments of around $400 a month.
We hate asking for help. We really do. But this is America, and right now, we don’t have another choice. If you can spare anything, we would be beyond grateful. Every little bit helps, whether it’s a donation or just sharing this with others.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We know how tight times are for everyone, and we DO NOT want anyone else going further in debt for us. Please, if you don't have a little extra, do not donate. Do not put this on a credit card. We do not want that.
