Help Alex Wells Overcome Tragic Setback

Hello, my name is Starla and I am desperate in seeking assistance for an exceptional young man and his family.

I have known Alex Wells for the past two years while he has been dating my eldest daughter.

During that time I have witnessed his immense commitment, hard work, and determination elevate him to greatness within his high school basketball career.

Just weeks ago he graduated high school and was college bound with the sky as the limit.

But all of that is currently at risk after the senseless act of one person on Saturday night.

As some of you know I hosted a 18th birthday party for my daughter at our home on Saturday. Alex was in attendance. As the party came to an end Alex was standing outside when another teenager began shooting as he and his friends drove past our home.

Alex was shot in his leg and his femur was shattered.

He spent hours in surgery having a rod and pins placed.

We are so grateful that the shooting wasn't fatal but this injury could be detrimental to the basketball career he has spent his whole life cultivating.

The best case scenario is he will require months of intense and expensive rehab.

As you can imagine the medical bills are massive and only multiplying each day.

This 18 year old boy cannot walk let alone work and none of this is by any fault of his own.

He made all the right choices and followed all the rules only to be gunned down in a suburban East Mesa neighborhood.

It is so infuriating to me and I feel so helpless so I am asking for any monetary help you can offer to try and ease the burden of Alex and his family.
