My name is Aisha and I am fundraising in order to get my Memoir published. It’s a story spanning over 20 years in the making and across continents.

It's a Memoir in memory of my strong willed brave mother Annsa to raise awareness about Organ donation particularly amongst the ethnically diverse communities, South Asian being one, and to tell my very personal story of a journey through different cultures and growing up as a teenager in a British Asian family in the UK where our mum was fighting for life whilst waiting for a Kidney Transplant, and making the best of every day with her family. During her ten year wait for a kidney, Mum was on dialysis which is what kept her alive. We are grateful for the lease for life she had because of dialysis, while she waited for an organ transplant.

Help me reach my target so I can get the book published and also translated into Arabic, Urdu and German.
I want to spread the message to as many people as possible to consider being an organ donor which saves lives and creates happiness. My life as a teenager could have been quite different as could Annsa’s have been as a wife and mother.
If only one person decides to do this after reading my book then I will know I made a difference. It was too late for Annsa, but it may not be too late for someone you know.

What you get when you donate at least £15 (approx €17.50) or more.

Annsa was an amazing cook and having lived in Pakistan and Kuwait and then the United Kingdom she cooked Pakistani, Arabian and English food all the time. Cooking food was an absolute favourite activity of hers and lots of conversations full of mum's love took place in the Kitchen. I will personally invite you to a private live video of me cooking my Annsa's Pakistani Chicken as part of a curry night. I will send you the Pakistani Chicken recipe in advance so either you cook with me, or try it yourself later. It's up to you!

What you get when you donate at least £100 or more.
A private cooking session with me lasting 1.5 hrs

“Family Matters” is a non-fiction memoir about Aisha Chaudhry’s mother Annsa, who waited ten years for a kidney transplant before finally losing her lease for life. From the history of her parents settling in the UK after leaving Pakistan - following the partition of India - to stories of growing up in a lively British Asian family, Aisha invites the reader to register their decision to donate and discuss it with their family. She conveys the message that the situation was a family matter, but also above all else, Family Matters.
