My name is Ahanu Youngblood, and I am a college student at Amherst College. Recently, I was invited by Team USA to represent the United States at the World University Games in Torino, Italy. The World University Games happen every two years, much like the Olympics, and are a competition where top collegiate-level athletes compete in multiple disciplines. This year I will compete in snowboard racing, doing three events during January. Unfortunately, as a low-income student and a child of a single mother, neither my mom nor I can outright pay the cost associated with going to the competition in Italy. Any donated amount will help go towards registration, housing, and transportation while I compete in Italy.
