REST PEACEFULLY ACHILLES
Passed away April 22, 2021 by 8:30 pm
Achilles he had old fractures on his leg that I didn't know of when I adopted him. He hop the gate to say hello to me when I came in my unit and he hop back since I told him he was not supposed to and re- fractured his leg in 4 Places. That was the most terrifying screams I ever heard in my life. He tried crawling towards me and he was so much in pain. I wrapped him in a blanket to check his leg and felt floating bones in there. He fractured his leg badly.
I took him to the ER Wednesday night April 21st immediately by 8 pm and I could not afford 7k for surgery so they send him with a cast at 3 am Thursday April 22nd but he needed 4-8 weeks locked in a cage leg rest and can't move to heal his leg temporary but I couldn't bare seeing him in pain and suffer that way. Screaming and stressed I can't have him live that way. This little guy didn't care he still manage to hop around on his cast wanting to climb his tree and see outside his window. Of coarse I didn't let him so I carried him carefully and placed him on my bed and we napped. He was so sad and hurting I had to do something fast. Thursday April 22nd I Went to my vet and me and my vet agreed the cheapest and fastest way to get him better is emergency leg amputation. So I rushed him 1 hour away to get that done. Everything went well he was recovering and minutes before he was going to go back home with me while I was waiting in the parking lot all day the surgeon called me that Achilles heart rate is slowing down and all doctors are performing CPR...... Then
Minutes passed and I got a call telling me ".......I'm sorry
.........."
I'm still very devistated. I didn't sleep in 48 hours. He was my 1st cat and I only had him for 3 months but I rather have him pass peacefully without pain than suffering in a cage in pain for 4-8 weeks not able to play and be a cat. I held his cold body and hugged him tightly and said my goodbyes. It sucks but he went peacefully and that is all that mattered to me. He was the best cat in the whole world and this little guy touched hundreds of people. He was very special and will always have a place in my heart.

THANK YOU ALL! May he rest in peace :(
(April 21st 2021- Achilles landed on his leg terribly wrong and needs surgery for fracture repair that will cost me 6-7k but looks like amputation will be the route to go :( he had fractures before I adopted that I was not aware of and now it is pretty bad. I don't have that kind of money to repair that leg or amputate it and asking for any help even it it's sharing this fund raiser. For now I was only able to afford to get his leg stable with a cast and splinter.
I adopted Achilles from NAWS humane society 1/23/21 for my dog ILSA to have a buddy and to help her mental health in having a little therapy animal and I was much needing a little cuddly buddy too. He was going to be euthanized at a high kill shelter in Kansas until NAWS rescue scooped him up and I knew when I saw his picture and bio in the adoption page that I knew he was the one. I took him to the vet 2/27/21 for a wellness check and he was diagnosed with a neurogical issue (cerebellar hypoplasia) which he will live a healthy normal life but he had also X-rays done and the vet found he has an enlarged heart which with a specialist to recheck he ended up All good with his heart and All his bloodwork and heart test came out perfect and good. I have to give everything I have to help him and thanks to many who helped in donations to help since my funds were so tight due to my jobs doing poorly and I was not having enough clients still. I do not want to wait and see if he will get better without being untreated or think of the worse of one day finding him laying on the floor not moving. He is a young healthy under a year old cat and I plan to do all I can to get the help he needs.
I hate to ask any help but this sweet boy needs attention and I'm afraid I'll be cut short on funds to try to get him all the help possible.
Please even if you can share this it will be more than enough help.
Thank you in advance! I also have venmo, zelle, and PayPal if you wish to personally send anything. Again, don't feel obligated to donate.
