Hi my loves! My name is Caroline and I created this GoFundMe to support my dear friend Raneem and her brother, Abdul Hakim Ali Abu Obaid, lovingly known as Aboud, who is currently in critical condition in Gaza.

Aboud has been living with a severe brain injury since 2012, when Israeli shelling struck near him and caused shrapnel to pierce his skull. The injury left him unable to walk, speak clearly, or care for himself. Over the years, his condition has worsened due to a lack of proper medical care, and he now suffers from frequent epileptic seizures after being subjected to harmful treatment by an unqualified doctor.

Today, Aboud lives in a tent in devastating, inhumane conditions in Gaza. He is completely dependent on his family and is confined to a wheelchair, unable to access even the most basic necessities.

Right now, he is being starved, along with over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.

They are in a state of man-made famine, with nearly no food or medical aid allowed in.

Aboud urgently needs to be evacuated to survive, but the family can’t even afford daily food right now.

Raneem tells her brothers heartbreaking story here:

“This is Abdul Hakim Ali Abu Obaid, we call him Abboud.. His life has been on hold since 2012 when an Israeli shelling next to him caused shrapnel to penetrate his head, fracture his skull, and damage the brain. Parts of the shrapnel and sand settled in his brain next to the dead cells, which would later affect his movement and the way he spoke, his psychology, and with the passage of time, he became unable to walk or speak intelligibly, to the point that he was unable to carry out his daily life by himself, such as eating, drinking, and using the bathroom! Throughout those years, the family visited every doctor specializing in the brain and nerves in Gaza and Egypt, but no one was able to help Abdul Hakim. Unfortunately, we went to an incompetent doctor who subjected him to treatment with electrocution, which led to him suffering from successive epileptic seizures as a result of the presence of metal fragments in his brain and his failure to recover from this!”
