My name is Maia Adams and my mother, Stephanie Adams, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Uterine Cancer in November of 2020.  When she was diagnosed, she had recently started a new nursing job and was ecstatic to begin her new journey in her already extensive career as a nurse. She loved taking care of her patients and found fulfillment going to work everyday.

For my entire life, my mother has selflessly taken care of me alone as a single mother, and has continued caring for many others. Due to her being at her job less than one year, her FMLA was unable to get approved (she is currently trying to reverse this), yet she is unable to work, care for herself, and pay her bills as her savings has been completely depleted. She no longer can walk more than a few steps and has trouble eating and retaining food, along with other side effects from her current chemo treatment. 

My ask is that if you are able, to please help provide care for a woman who has done nothing but care for others her entire life. She’s constantly worrying about her stacking bills, when I and the rest of my family needs her primary focus to be on getting better. My hope is that this will provide her with some mental and emotional relief as she physically fights off this disease. The funds will help towards her continued care and treatment, medical bills, and living expenses such as food, her car note, monthly bills etc. and will be managed by me and distributed directly to my mother.  As I live in California and she in my home state of Ohio, I  am unable to be her primary source of caregiving, so she has moved into my aunts house so that she can receive full-time care, however it’s been extremely hard on the both of them since my aunt isn’t currently working and my moms savings was (and is) their source of living.
