Help a Gazan Family Have a Chance in Life
I'm Rahaf Hussain Almassri, 24 years old. I studied English at Al_Azhar University of Gaza, which was blown up by the Israeli Defense Forces, and I have not received my graduation certificate yet. My brothers are in high school, and my sister is in her first year in the same university that was demolished.
Since 7 October, our future was lost and our lives were destroyed. I write my story to ask for help to leave Gaza and build a life abroad for my family. I can't believe I'm still alive after 130 days of bombing on Gaza, and I know I’ll be counting more such days to come. More than 1.3 million people have been displaced. The Israeli tanks surrounded our neighborhood and randomly bombed the area.
After my house was bombed, I had to evacuate with my husband and my daughter to my parents' home, even though their house was damaged and is not currently safe, actually no place is safe, but Thank God it is better than sleeping in a tent in such a rainy and freezing weather.
The Kinds of suffering and torture practiced on citizens, old and young, are unprecedented. The Israeli Occupation is using all types of inhumane ways to murder us. Till this moment, they tortured, arrested, assaulted and executed thousands of Palestinian civilians among whom there were children, women, elderly people. They committed numerous massacres and complete annihilation, and many families were erased from the civil registry. Slow death due to hunger, thirst, displacement, spread of diseases and lack of medical care is currently happening.
Gaza is now a place unfit for life, no schools, no universities, no religious places for Muslims or Christians, and no service institutions, even wedding halls were all bombed and levelled to the ground. But we love life even if we can't find a way to it.
I'm a Mother of a daughter who was born a month before the war. I wish we could leave Gaza, I don't want my daughter to grow up in a city of war over the years. Watching the news and seeing children in pieces everyday breaks my heart and makes me feel scared and wanting to leave Gaza immediately because I don’t want to lose my beloved family.
The situation there is very tragic: no electricity, clean water, food, petrol, telecommunication, services, jobs. Nothing at all. Gaza is literally a ghost city.
I’ve Never asked for financial support but I have to save my family and I'm very grateful to anyone who is helping. This fundraising page is meant to save the lives of my ‘9’ family members, including my father, mother, two sisters, two brothers, husband, daughter and myself. The raised fund will be used for the required Egypt-Gaza border-crossing coordination (Now around $5000 AUD for an adult and $2500 for a child), travel cost, and the living expenses for the whole family members for an unforeseen period of time.
Thank you for your time, consideration and potential support. Your kindness is greatly appreciated and together we can make a difference for the lives of my family and me.
I will be forever grateful to every one of you.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
