Edge is a black, trans artist and musician from Louisiana. For the last few years, Edge has been on her gender transition journey, and it's going great so far, but because the American medical system is broken and transphobic, the surgeries that are medically necessary for her survival and happiness are currently out of her reach.

In case you're unaware: the vast majority of gender affirming surgeries are NOT covered by insurance.

Edge's artistry is bold, innovative and deeply personal. She describes herself as "an intergalactic demoness turned goddess" and "a siren of sultry vibes." She was born in Northern Louisiana and lives in New Orleans.

This fundraiser is being organized by Edge and her friends, and the money we're raising will all go to gender surgeries for Edge. She already has surgeons for many of the procedures lined up, and is hoping to get most of these surgeries within the next year.

ANY amount of money you can donate will be greatly appreciated, but of course the more the merrier. And sharing on social media and with your friends and family privately would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the cost break down for gender conformation surgeries:

-Top surgery (breast implants): $11,000, plus $3,000 for room and board in a recovery house. The above amount also includes flights for her and her partner to the surgeon, as there is no surgeon in Louisiana who is competent at working with trans women.

-Gender reassignment surgery: $31,000. This is a low estimate, but it's where we're starting. Gender reassignment can cost upwards of $70,000.

-Recovery time/loss of work (each surgery requires weeks of off-time, during which Edge will not be able to make money): $4,000.
