UPDATED (5/17/25) Thanks to support from you all, Jing had a successful PU/Penectomy surgery and is now home and recovering. We are both still very shaken from the experience, and taking it one day at a time. The good news is that he is stable and back home resting. I am deeply grateful for all the support shown here. It has meant to world to me to see how many of you have come to bat for my little guy. UPDATED (5/9/25) Unfortunately, Jing’s urinary blockage returned yesterday. Even understanding the rate of recurrence, I could never have expected for him to be back in the hospital so quickly. I had to rush him to VEG in Boston last night for an unblocking. The vet went on to tell me that they could unblock him, but that emergency PU was critical. I have taken him to Angell hospital this morning and I am waiting for the doctors to exam him/perform surgery. The estimate for the entirety of this procedure is north of $5,000. With help from the community I was able to raise a majority of the cost from his first hospital bill, but am now fearful that the repeat cost of unblocking and surgery is more than what I can feasibly provide. UPDATED (5/5/25) Jing is home and on the path to recovery! Thank you everyone for your support, it has truly moved me, and because of the help from my community Ive been able to get my baby boy back. I am leaving this fundraiser open as an EMERGENCY FUND, as kittens diagnosed with FLUTD are at their greatest risk for reconstruction within the first couple weeks post hospitalization. I am doing everything in my power to prevent the problem in house.

Hi, I’m Sam and this is my kitten, Jingus. He is the sweetest, most loving, and caring little angel I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Recently, Jingus began straining in his litter box and yowling while seemingly not producing anything. I took him to the emergency room at Angell Hospital, and after his initial exam and ultrasound, he was immediately taken in for further care, as I was told by the vet that his bladder was inflamed and there seemed to be a blockage. The vet then went on to tell me Jingus's diagnosis was either that of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease or Feline Idiopathic Cystitis. Gone untreated, these are LIFE-THREATENING diseases. The vet made clear that the course of action was to deblock him via catheter. The estimate the hospital gave me was $2,500-$4,500, with a possibility that he will end up needing surgery. Unfortunately, in his case, this infliction is said to be recurrent without the surgery. Additionally, there are to be expenses for his medication or any additional treatment.

With the support of good friends and help from a veterinary fund, we’ve been able to begin covering the costs, but I estimate about $1,000 more may be needed to pay for his procedure, as they’ve decided to keep him an extra overnight at the hospital. He means everything to me — and all I want is to bring him home and comfort him. He is currently at the hospital, and I am an absolute wreck trying to focus on the positives while being so overwhelmed by the fear of losing my baby.
