Help Aryan Beat Cancer

We are creating this GoFundMe on behalf of our cousin, Aryan Amedi (14 years old) who was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer. By the time he was able to access medical care and receive a diagnosis, the cancer had metastasized to the bone in his arm and shoulder. Aryan lives in Kurdistan, where we are originally from - he still lives there, where he and his family dedicate their lives toward conserving nature in Kurdistan. Every day, they wake up and care for the planet and all of the animals that inhabit it.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of government structure, citizens do not have access to medical insurance and medical expenses are exponentially high. Because of this, individuals are expected to pay out of pocket at the time of service, even though most people there can hardly afford the basic necessities of life. There is significant turmoil that the Kurdish people have to face every day at the hands of other countries which has led to this instability.

Initially, Aryan was to have his arm amputated because it was the cheaper alternative; although, there is another option available that could potentially maintain his quality of life and save his limb - this would involve removing the tumor growing in his arm and shoulder, which is more extensive than it sounds due to the surrounding structures within the arm. This is ultimately what Aryan wants because, as you can imagine, the idea of losing a limb (especially at such a young, tender age) causes him significant distress.

Aryan hopes for a bright future where he can finish high school and continue on to college and university, where he will work hard towards becoming a biology professor. He enjoys sports, especially soccer, and he is the captain of his intramural soccer team. His father has instilled in him a passion for wildlife and nature, and when not in school, he can be found out in the mountains tending to their goats and sheep and working their multiple-acre garden that produces a large variety of fruits and vegetables.

We are doing everything we can to help him out, and his family is selling many of their valuables to come up with some cash. Unfortunately, there still is not enough to cover the costs of surgery. We greatly appreciate any help we can get, and donations will cover his medical expenses - including the chemotherapy he is currently receiving, as well as saving up money towards this surgery that he desperately needs to save his life.
