I am Atefeh Sadat Hosseini and I am raising fund for a 4-month-old baby whose name is "Mahdi" who is fighting a heart disease and only have limited time (less than 1 year) to do the surgery and survive. He is diagnosed with a congenital heart disease (a hole inside his heart) but the sad part of the story is he is born in a Hazara family in Afghanistan. Hazara people are target of genocide inside Afghanistan.

His doctor told the family that we cannot do the surgery in Afghanistan and you need to take him to out of Afghanistan (India or any country which has better medical conditions than Afghanistan) for this. But Mahdi’s family does not have enough money to treat him.

There is no enough job and no income for the people after rise of Taliban. His dad left Afghanistan and is seeking job in neighbor countries. His mom also cannot work since Taliban banned women activities and even getting out of house and she should take care of Mahdi too.

Every week she should fill up oxygen balloon twice and finding money from week to week is getting hard and harder for her. (Each balloon costs 400 Afs which is almost equal to the price of one Starbucks coffee, something small for us and so huge for her.)

I would like to share Mahdi’s mother’s feeling with you:

I am passing the most stressful days of my life when I should look at those pure eyes and hearing his breath begging for my help and I can do nothing but siting by his side and crying and praying to God for help.

Please be that help by contributing to the fund which can cover the surgery costs and save him. Let’s help him be lucky enough to see his 3rd birthday and onward.
