For the past year I have lived in Arezzo, Italy pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts in Physical Theatre. Just four weeks before the beginning of our second year, my cohort and I received devastating news that the federal government would no longer provide financial aid to our program because it is based outside of the U.S.

Accademia dell'Arte is a unique program offering a broad and emersive experience of study in the performing arts in which I have been extremely lucky to take part. I first came to ADA as an undergraduate for study abroad in Dance Performance and was immediately inspired by the community of artists and teachers. One year ago, I was thrilled to be accepted into their masters program as a member of Cohort V. I could never have guessed how impactful the past year would be on my continued practice as a performer. With one year left, I am determined to complete my studies and receive my MFA.

Because financial aid has been revoked so suddenly, I am turning to alternative means of funding in order to continue my studies, which will culminate in the fall of 2018. I am extremely thankful for any and all support toward my goal.
