Harry (Chip) Williams and Kelly Williams

Edit... I changed the amount. Accidentally added an extra zero in there! Sorry!

As a person that always does the donating, I never thought I would be asking for donations for my family, but here we are. It's a lot to read, mostly because I talk a lot. I've entered a recap at the beginning for the people that don't want to read.

1. Mom (Kelly) and Dad (Harry/Chip) both passed within 18 days of each other.
2. We need to raise money to help with expenses because the insurance claims are complicated because of the small timeframe in between each passing.
3. Probate sucks and we'll hopefully be done in 6 months to a year because of #1.
4. My brothers will still be here to care for the house when I have to go back to work in a couple weeks. I REALLY want to get the house paid off for them and let them live in peace after all of this. Anyone that wants to help directly with this can contact me for details.
5. I'm not sure what I've missed, but thank you to everyone that has helped, wants to help, wishes they could help, and sends all their love. We are so appreciative.
5. It's sad that this happened, and we will miss them tremendously. Our hearts are broken, but dad said we have to keep moving... SO WE'LL KEEP MOVING.

This is our story.

My name is Cassie and two of my siblings are Max and Nick. The posted picture is of our parents. Kelly was my bonus mom for the last 37 of my 40 years of my life. They created Max and Nick together and loved them with every ounce of their soul.

On December 26, 2023, mom passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at our family's home in Brook Park, Ohio. She had been in severe pain due to a herniated disk in her back and was scheduled to have surgery the following week. It seems she had a heart attack and just didn't make it. Our family was crushed.

Max and I live out of state, so we rushed home immediately to be with our family. When we arrived, we noticed our dad was looking pretty frail and all around not great. He had begun seeing his doctor for a few strange symptoms a couple weeks prior and had an appointment scheduled for the week following mom's service, which was on January 4, 2024. Due to his attention being pulled in several directions, going to the doctor immediately was not at the top of his list.... he didn't want to miss mom's funeral service and we understood.

The day after mom's service, January 5, 2024, dad agreed to go to the ER with me. We sat and waited while they took his blood several times and ran test after test. Finally, he was admitted into the hospital late that Friday night and more tests followed day in and day out. All the results showed that dad was in bad shape. He had lesions covering every bit of his liver, a 3-inch mass on his left lung, and 3 tumors in his brain. By Thursday morning, dad was diagnosed with "a poorly differentiated neuroendocrine tumor," which they classified as small cell cancer. It spread like wildfire and there was no stopping it. He was too weak for treatment, and it would have only bought him MAYBE a couple more weeks. Dad passed away on early Saturday morning, January 13, 2024. He was surrounded by loved ones and we were so happy to be able to be there with him.

This fundraiser is being set up to help us, the surviving children, with funeral and memorial expenses as well as living expenses for my brothers. Max is returning home for a while to take care of the house and be with Nick. My goal here is to raise enough to attempt to pay off some of our parents regularly reoccurring bills so we can focus on moving forward. I'd like to get the house paid off, so Max can be free of that worry and Nick can continue to grow and we learn to live without both parents.

Our parents' life insurance has been a bit of a challenge, since they were each other's beneficiaries. Although I have a POA for dad, it still only goes so far. Both of their estates will be tied up in probate for the foreseeable future.

If you would like to donate, thank you! If you can't, I totally understand. Prayers, good thoughts, good juju, good vibes, and all that stuff is greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone for your kind words. It means the world to us.
