Harjinder Garcha to pay medical bills

Hello everyone,

I am Daljit Kailay. I am creating this GoFundMe in hopes to raise funds to pay the medical bills for my mother, Harjinder Kaur Garcha, who suffered from a heart attack followed by stroke at the age of 69. She was living with my family and I for almost ten years; she was here on a Super-Visa. She had medical insurance covering up to $100,000 of expenses.

My mother was initially admitted in the Cardiac ICU at Royal Columbian Hospital on June 6, 2023, where she underwent a bypass surgery. Followed her surgery, my mother suffered from a stroke. Thus, the doctors decided to transfer her to the Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) from where she was discharged on July 2, 2023. Unfortunately, she had to be re-admitted at the Royal Columbian Hospital from July 15, 2023 to July 22, 2023 as she developed a serious infection around the wound that required medical attention.

Her medical bills came in. The medical bills covering just her stay at both hospitals adds up to $244,120, while the bills covering the doctors' fees adds up to approximately $11,326.67. The medical bills are still coming in. My mother's medical insurance covered up to $100,000 of these expenses. The rest is on me.
