Hand Sanitizer - Baltimore First Responders
Donativo protegido
We need your help producing hand sanitizer for first responder organizations. At AthenaES®, we have begun producing hand sanitizer based on the World Health Organization formulations in our biotechnology laboratory in Baltimore, MD USA.
A week ago our company’s CEO received an urgent plea from his son-in-law who is a New York City police officer assigned to the coronavirus task force in need of personal protective equipment. While the company had a few N95 masks and gloves that we could send, we did not have any hand sanitizer. As AthenaES® (www.athenaes.com) is an experienced manufacturer of biotechnology reagents (26-year history) with a highly customizable and flexible manufacturing platform, the company’s R&D and manufacturing teams were able to produce a couple of small batches of hand sanitizer. Since then, we have received pleas from other first responder organizations who likewise have urgent need for our assistance to produce hand sanitizer. In response, Athena has begun producing two versions of hand sanitizer based on the World Health Organization formulations for use by healthcare professionals working the field. These formulations have a higher alcohol content and a second disinfectant agent compared to conventional hand sanitizers.
Athena has the excess production capacity as many of our normal customers are closed out of safety concerns due to the COVID-19 outbreak. To help us scale our operation and begin supplying first responders with hand sanitizer, we are asking for start-up capital to transition our manufacturing process and purchase raw materials. Any amount will help us to supply these folks. For every donation over $30, we can send you a 500 ml (~16 oz.) refill for spray bottles. Alternatively, you can have your donation fully used to supply first responders. Please indicate your preference and provide your mailing address as a GoFundMe direct message. Thank you for your help!
Donated proceeds beyond our initial goal will be used to support continued production and distribution of hand sanitizer to first responders.
