I am Halie Tennant, I live in Hotspur, Victoria, Australia. On the 30th of may 2020 I fell face first into a fire pit after having a few drinks with a girl friend.
I was flown to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne where I stayed for 2 months. I had all the skin from my face and neck removed and it was rebuild with BTM, which is a sponge like substance that encourages capillaries and cells to grow and for a base for skin grafting. After this was ready I had skin grafts put on. Since this is have been home and back to hospital 3 time for appointments and more surgeries on my eyes and mouth.
I have many more surgeries to come to help fix my face once my skin stops contracting.
Through this all I have remained positive and kept looking for the silver linings after every storm. The silver lining may be small or incredibly large, but it was always there.
People keep telling me that they could not be as strong as me and honestly to those people I have said 'you don't know how strong you can be, until you have to be!'
