LIVER FOR LARRY FUND
Larry STILL Needs
YOUR Help
PASS IT ON
Larry had his liver transplant on August 28, 2012, at Cleveland Clinic. We had hoped that once he received a transplant that he would be on the road to recovery and get to being back to healthy once again. We had only been home for 6 days before having to come back to Cleveland Clinic. Our journey took an unexpected turn and he has been back in the hospital for 27 days being treated for GVHD (Graft Versus Host Disease: Immune cells (white blood cells) in the tissue (the graft) recognize the recipient (the host) as "foreign". The transplanted immune cells then attack the host's body cells.). It is very rare, less than 1% of liver transplant patients have this issue. Unfortunately, Larry is in that 1%. We are seeing progress, it is a wait and see type of disease. THe change this past year and half has brought to our lives is something I do not wish on anyone. The changes I have The toll the past year and half has taken on his spirit is hard to witness.
